Conduct a project investigating stylistic variation and language performance. Record an authentic conversation or collect data from readily available sources, e.g. TV, radio, internet. Provide a transcription of your data and include this in the Appendix. Choose one of the models discussed in class for your analysis (e.g. Audience Design, Accommodation Theory, Stylisation of identities) to discuss how participants adjust their speech styles and use the linguistic resources at their disposal to converge or diverge to the speech style of their interlocutor(s) and/or actively adopt different stances and personas.
