Nutrition Discussion

Take a look at any multivitamin label. Compare the Supplement Facts on the label with the Daily Value (DV) and Tolerable Upper Intake Levels (ULs) for Males/Females, age group 19-50 yrs. On the attached file, fill in the nutrients specified on the dietary supplement label. Compare the nutrients with the DV and UL by marking H - if the value is higher, L - if the value is lower, E if the value is equal and N/A if the vitamin does not contain a specific nutrient. After comparing the labels, please answers these questions: Which nutrients are lower that the DV and which are higher than the UL? What is the difference between Tolerable Upper Intake (ULs) and Daily Value (DV)? Are dietary supplements necessary? What have you learned from this exercise?
